3 Tips for Choosing a New Firearm
So you’re ready to purchase a new firearm. This is an exciting decision to make! Chances are that whether you’re buying your first firearm or your fiftieth, you’ve done quite a bit of research on the weapon in question. It’s a great time to be alive and we’re fortunate enough to have thousands of great options to choose from. You know, even the least expensive firearms today are great ways for people to have a way to protect their homes and their families.
But with so many options to choose from it can start to be a little bit overwhelming. What happens when you read conflicting reviews? What should you do when you watch demos on YouTube and find that two different people have two different reactions? Luckily for you, the team at Fierce Defender is here to help. We’re known for our custom gun holsters and we’re also pretty big gun enthusiasts, as you might imagine.
Here Are Our 3 Tips for Picking a New Firearm
What Is This Gun For?
Is it target practice? Home defense? Are you going to carry it on a daily basis? How will you carry it (for example, in a backpack, in your vehicle, or in a holster)? These are all things to think about as you start the process. If you already have a gun (or multiple guns), where does this one fit? Perhaps you already have a 9mm and you want something to practice with that won’t cost you as much when you’re buying ammo for the range. Maybe you need something smaller than your .45 to carry with you while you’re wearing jeans and a t shirt. Identify how you’ll be using the gun and move forward from there.
Try It Out If You Can
If you’re fortunate enough to live in an area where you can rent firearms to try at the range, simply getting out and putting a few rounds through your potential new weapon is the way to go. If you can’t do that, read as many reviews and watch as many videos as you can. Ask for help in online forums or call up a friend who may have experience with that particular weapon.
Get The Best Holster You Can
Okay, maybe we’re a bit biased on this one, but we strongly believe that the firearm you depend on to keep you safe is only as good as the holster it’s in. After all, if you find yourself in a situation where you need to reliably draw your firearm, you want it to be in a holster that actually works. Comfort is key as well, ensuring that you’re able to keep it on you all day. We have you covered in both regards.
Whether you need a holster that has room for an extra magazine or just something that won’t make it obvious that you’re carrying, Fierce Defender Holsters are for you. We have a number of options to choose from or you can even forge your own custom gun holster to make sure it has exactly the specs you need. We hope that this post has been helpful and that you can confidently choose your next firearm. Until next time!
